MEET ETIQUETTE
MEET ETIQUETTE: (1st edition: 11/10/11)
  • SWIMMERS:
    • During the meet, swimmers are expected to remain ON DECK at all times.   If a swimmer needs to leave pool deck for any reason, they must check in with the parent Clerk of Course (Victoria Brownlee for the Boys; Ann Hillanbrand for the Girls) FIRST.
    • Swimmers are NOT allowed in the stands; this creates wet floors (hazard to navigation!) and swimmers who miss their races.
    • Swimmers should listen for their age group to be called by the Clerks and Deck parents; if you can’t hear them, move closer!
    • If you are not swimming a race or lining up for another race, cheer your teammates on!

  • PARENTS:
    • If you are NOT working the meet, please remain in the stands; only meet workers are allowed on pool deck during the meet.
    • If you are not on the schedule but available to work the day of the meet, check in with the Meet Director to see if they need any help.   Remember – you get a much better view of the action from pool deck!
    • Make sure your children understand the rules above and help them to observe them.
